This blog is about a topic I never thought of until I went to clean up my basement.
PUZLE BXES!
I have a lot of puzzles at this point. Some were sealed in boxes to complete. Some were made and boxed to do again. But then, there was a large number of puzzles finished, pasted and hung on my wall. I’ll never do it again and I don’t need to store them. As a result, I’ve got a bunch of empty puzzle boxes in the basement, and I wonder what good riddlers would do if we didn’t recreate them.
I asked online questions and realized that while most people were re-constructing them, some were not. Here are some early ideas to use your empty box:
Sorting Tray: Use them as classification trays, especially for larger puzzles. The standard tray is very small, and you’ll need a lot! I use six trays. The screen has been closedNameEmpty boxes — caps and bottoms — are perfect for a wide variety of pieces.
Cat in the box. I love this idea. If you have a cat, then you know that they’re the puzzle magnets and will sit on your puzzle head while you’re working on it. This helps them to have their own seats and to “consider carefully. ”
Organisation – Does anyone watch Marie Kondo or read a book about the mess? These can be used to contain change, matches, towels, or ties. Maybe you have a box that has pictures that you like, or in the beginning you don’t have puzzles, right? Use boxes to store and re-show images.
The puzzle catalog. You can save the entire box, or you can just cut off the image. Mark by day and time you finish them.
Gift box. With holidays on us, why not use your favorite puzzle image to wrap gifts? A book, gloves, shirts, nightwear, even gift cards, can be wrapped in a beautiful box and then the box can be reused by receivers.
I recycled most of them, but I saved my favorites to be able to use them someday. If I love an image, I want to see it again.
What do you think of these ideas? Let me know.
